The deployment of the ATSC 3.0 Next Gen TV broadcast standard in the US has received a boost with the news that Alticast, an end-to-end media solutions provider, Strategy & Technology (S&T), an independent developer of interactive TV technologies, and UniSoft, a software company specialising in broadcast provisioning, monitoring and testing, will demonstrate how the companies’ combined technologies augment a complete end-to-end ecosystem that allows broadcasters and content delivery networks to fully leverage the benefits and monetisation potential of the standard. The demonstration will take place at the forthcoming NAB NYC 2018 in New York.
Alticast’s cloud-based solution is designed to enable a seamless user experience for content consumption on various devices in the home with ATSC 3.0 broadcast streams. The joint demonstration with S&T and UniSoft will show how the integrated ecosystem delivers a highly-personalised, data-driven user experience with multi-DRM capabilities.
The solution will highlight the ability to deliver ATSC 3.0 content from the primary receiver to multiple devices seamlessly and efficiently, with low latency. The integrated data analytics platform, Argus, enables a real-time adaptive user experience, as well as personalised content recommendations, no matter where the content is coming from, or what device is being used to consume the content. In addition, the demonstration at NAB NYC will show an enhanced navigation experience that improves the search and discovery of relevant content for the viewers.
