ATEME, a company focused on video delivery solutions for broadcast, cable, Direct-to-Home, IPTV and OTT, is enabling real-world ATSC 3.0 field research for Pearl TV and the Phoenix Model Market, a test bed for next generation TV services.
Utilizing ATEME’s software-based TITAN solution, Pearl TV is testing multi-channel HEVC encoding for ATSC 3.0 including advanced features such as Ultra High Definition, High Dynamic Range video, immersive audio, digital rights management, next-generation emergency alerting, Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding (SHVC) and digital ad insertion.
“Next generation TV gives broadcasters incredible flexibility to deliver content both over-the-air and over-the-top, all in the common Internet Protocol language of the Internet. In Phoenix, we are working to demonstrate how broadcasters can work together to take full advantage of the ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard and also implement new services that will appeal to viewers,” said Pearl TV Managing Director Anne Schelle.
