Dielectric will strengthen its global Powerlite brand for broadcasters with new systems built specifically for NextGen TV, based on the ATSC 3.0 standard. To be introduced at the 2020 NAB Show, the new Powerlite TFU-WB-LP Series addresses the unique requirements of ATSC 3.0 single-frequency networks (SFNs). The series offers multiple variations, patterns and software-defined proposal generators to help broadcasters develop perfectly-defined, multi-site low-power antenna systems.
Dielectric developed the Powerlite Series to address low-power TV and FM radio budgets. Powerlite systems combine antennas, transmission line, tunable filters and other RF components into one affordable, all-inclusive package. They have proven particularly popular in Asia, Latin America and other international regions.
The Powerlite TFU-WB-LP Series is the first to specifically target next-generation television, or NextGen TV, covering US broadcasters and international regions that adopt ATSC 3.0. The series evolves from Dielectric’s popular TFU-WB family, a range of main and auxiliary UHF antennas developed for the US spectrum repack. While the new Powerlite TFU-WB-LP Series offers a solution for UHF broadcasters in the upcoming low-power repack phase, they are optimized for use in ATSC 3.0 NextGen TV networks.
